Frequently asked questions
There are numerous scoring apps but most amount to no more than simple tallys. Versus is a powerhouse of an app that captures all of your scores and results across different sports/games in different matches against different players. It then reflects all of this data back to you in useful and interesting ways via extensive analysis (charts and tables).
Yes - we have extensive documentation over on our Knowledge Base site.
Versus is completely free to download and try. The number of matches that you can score and log is limited to 10.
There are 3 in-app purchase options: a monthly or annual subscription or a one-off purchase. An active subscription (or the one-off purchase) unlocks the following features:
- Unlimited match scoring
You will keep all the matches that you have added but if that is more than 10 then you will not be able to add any new ones.
Yes - iCloud/Cloudkit sync is enabled by default ensuring that your games, players and matches are safely backed up and synced across devices. All of this is private to you and stored in your own iCloud account.
You can export all data to a CSV file. This includes all match results so that you could conduct additional analysis elsewhere. It also includes game details meaning that it can also be used to import into a fresh install of Versus to reinstate all Players, Games and Versus.
We have an import feature that can accept a csv file. The import uses the same format as our export feature so all of your data can be re-added to a new / alternative device or you can share with someone else.
The import function will process the All Data Download option from v1 of Versus. There are some limitations though that you should be aware of. Game settings are not held in the csv and so the import will not know which games are scored at 1 or 2 levels. As such, you would ideally set up the Games in v2 to match the settings (and Name/Variant) that you already use in v1 BEFORE importing. If that is not done then Games will all import as 1 level games. Note, for 2 level games only 1 level (match level) results will be imported. This may skew some stats if you continue to use the same Game for new games in v2.
